I’m going to cover four essential oils, their benefits, and different ways to use them. The four essential oils I’m going to cover are ylang-ylang, lavender, frankincense, and cedar-wood. They are all very beneficial for the crown chakra and everyday use.

  1. Ylang-Ylang:

This oil has a very fragrant smell. It comes from an exotic flower that grows mainly in the Far East. It helps aids in relaxation and calmness. It’s known to promote feelings of joy and peacefulness. It can increase energy and promote positive mood when diffused. You can also use it with a carrier oil and apply to your wrist and neck. You can also add a few drops to a bath after a stressful day. Ylang-Ylang can be paired with few essential oils that work wonderful as a blend; Lavender, frankincense, bergamot, jasmine, or rose. Be careful when using this oil, though, as too high of a concentration can lead to headaches.

  1. Lavender:

This essential oil is one of the most popular oils out there. It’s universal for all seven chakras. It has a calming effect on energy and emotions, and helps aid in anxiety, depression, insomnia, nausea, and menstrual cramps. While meditating or sleeping, it allows one to connect with their spirit. It also allows peace to arise and releases pent up energy. You can add a few drops to a bath prior to going to bed or after a long stressful day. You can use with a carrier oil and rub on your wrists and neck. It can be diffused in a home or office to help you have a less stressful day, and you can make a sleep spray to spray your bed and pillow before bed. Be careful, though, because too much lavender can act as stimulant. It may also cause skin irritation or an allergic reaction, so be very careful with this oil.

  1. Frankincense:

This essential oil has a sweet, woody scent that comes from the resin of the Boswellia Carterii tree. It helps aids in anxiety, colds, coughs, and indigestion. It’s been thought to send a message to the region of our brain that influences our emotions and nervous system. You can diffuse this oil in your home or office if you are feeling stressed or a little congested. You can use with a carrier oil and rub it on the bottoms of your feet if you’re feeling under the weather or on your belly if you have an upset tummy.

  1. Cedar wood:

This essential oil derives from the needles, leaves, bark, and berries of cedar trees, and is a natural antiseptic. It helps aid in easing arthritis, insomnia, fungal infections, and respiratory system issues. It can also be found in shampoos that treat dandruff and scalp eczema. It’s also very soothing, making it beneficial for anxiety and stress. You can diffuse this oil in your home at bedtime to help promote better sleep or reduce stress, add a few drops to your bath prior to bed time or after a stressful day, or you can add a few drops to a carrier oil and apply to feet to help aid fungal infections.

Always be careful when using any oils. Make sure to use a carrier oil if applying directly to the skin, and only use the recommended amount when putting in bath water. For any reason, if you start to have side effects from oils, stop using them and contact your doctor. Always talk to your doctor if you are on medications or pregnant before using oils.
